Medicaid Braces and Child Health Plus Braces
Currently, local hospitals and clinics are unable to offer immediate orthodontic (braces) consultation appointments. Even if available, the wait times can stretch for hours before receiving care That is not the case at our office. We would like to welcome all of these appointment-frustrated patients to our office, and we will see you at your earliest convenience.
Welcome everyone from Sunset Park Dental Clinic, Lutheran Hospital, Coney Island Hospital, Interfaith Hospital, NYU Langone, Mount Sinai, Brooklyn, Methodist, Brookdale Hospital and all private dental practices.
Medicaid and Child Health Plus braces are provided at no cost at our Brooklyn and Lynbrook Long Island offices.
Children covered by New York State Medicaid or who have a Medicaid or Child Health Plus component in any insurance plans listed below are entitled to free braces (free orthodontics) if their condition meets the NYS Medicaid Orthodontic Program guidelines.

Dr. Gorin has participated in the NYS Medicaid Orthodontic Program for over 20 years. Dr. Gorin is an expert at preparing your orthodontic records and your request for orthodontic treatment for submission to the NYS Medicaid Orthodontic Program, Medicaid Managed Care Plans, and Child Health Plans.
If a disappointing decision is returned by Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care Plan, or Child Health Plus Plan, Dr. Gorin will personally oversee your appeal and assist you every step of the way.

Dr. Gorin will provide orthodontic treatment for your child at no cost* if the case meets all the following criteria:

The patient is covered under Medicaid or Child Health Plus orthodontic benefits.

Dr. Gorin has examined the patient and has determined that the case fits within the guidelines of the NYS Medicaid orthodontic rehabilitation program. Additionally, Dr. Gorin took a complete set of orthodontic records, formulated a narrative, and submitted the record set and narrative to Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO), or Child Health Plus Managed Care Organization (CHP) requesting comprehensive orthodontic treatment.

The patient has at least 1 of the 6 automatic qualifying HLD reporting indices.

The patient has been denied comprehensive orthodontic care by the MCO or CHP.

The patient received an adverse determination after a formal internal appeal to the MCO was considered.

The patient’s representative was present at a fair hearing, and an administrative judge ruled in favor of the plan’s decision to deny care.

Dr. Gorin has had an opportunity to review the judge's decision, has discussed the denials with the patient’s representative, and believes that the case remains within the guidelines of approvability.
*Dr. Gorin’s services include orthodontics only. Dr. Gorin will not incur the cost of extractions, surgical exposures of impacted teeth, jaw surgery, operative dentistry, restorative dentistry, rehabilitation dentistry, replacement of missing teeth, endodontic or periodontal services.
